FOOD PROCESSING INDUSTRIES IN KANPUR

Kanpur- the second largest city in the state of Uttar Pradesh after Lucknow.Kanpur, the industrial centre of Uttar Pradesh, known for its cotton and woollen textile and leather industries is situated on the southern bank of the Ganga. The fruits and vegetable industry- The prominent processed items are fruit pulps and juices, fruit-based ready-to serve beverages, canned F&V, jams, squashes, pickles, chutneys, and dehydrated vegetables. The major products processed and exported are dried and preserved vegetables.

Dairy industry- Chief products manufactured are infant milk food, malted food, condensed milk and cheese

Grain- based industry- Grain-based products are the largest contributor the Food Processing Industry, accounting for over 28% to 30% of revenues.

Meat processing industry- The State also plays a vital role in meat production in the country. Uttar Pradesh is the largest exporter in the country with the exports worth Rs. 200 crores.
